These 3 paintings are the project that were conceived in reaction to the artist’s current situation of being a “part-time artist” and also a “part-time minimum wage worker” in the horeca industry and now at a warehouse.
Inspired by working in a physically intensive environment with l
ittle to no labor protections, the paintings express the physical sensation of pain and exhaustion, but also the mentalreaction of lethargy and severance between desire and the lack of agency
of the physical body.
The aimless masses of the body in the paintings are mutated and deformed, representing what is under the skin of abused and exploited people.
