Bio
Enzy Jhang is an artist from Daejeon, South Korea, currently based in Amsterdam. Her work explores the intricate relationship between the individual and the environments they inhabit, from intimate childhood spaces to contemporary urban landscapes. At the core of her practice is the question of who holds agency over the body.
Jhang engages with space and identity in surreal and site-responsive ways. By tracing physical and emotional sensations—such as pain, tension, and relief—she investigates how bodies move through architecture and the invisible systems of capitalism and labor that define them. Her projects often reveal hidden structures, whether situated in the personal history of a grandparent’s home or the public sphere of a smart office.
Her works are not confined to a single medium, but mutate between installation, performance, and moving image. A graduate of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Jhang has presented her work in Rietveld UNCUT at the Stedelijk Museum, as well as at M4 gastatelier, Bradwolff Projects, and 4bid Gallery at OT301.
