Grass is the New Medicine (2026)

2 hand-made rubber wood boxes, hand-engraved coordinates on the back,  laser engraved plywood cards, size: 7x10cm each

Inspired by “Donguibogam,” a classic Korean medical text on herbalism and healing, I created two boxes that shares how two commonly found plants in the Netherlands can be used as herbal treatments. The boxes were hidden at different locations in Oosterpark with the hope that  the  geocache* founders to reconnect with nature through healing. This project was made as a part of the het resort’s Pilot program project week presentation, “Everywhere to be found”.

*Geocaching is a real-world treasure-hunt game where people use GPS coordinates to find hidden containers (called caches), and they often log their finds online.

Box 1. with the illustration of the plant “Plantago Asiastica” with the information about it’s herbal healing methods from old korean medicine book “Donguibogam”, on the back of the box, there is an engraved coordinate for the next cache box.




Box 2.  hidden at the back of the information sign at one of the entrance of the Oosterpark, also containing another herbal information about using this plant to heal your body.
